On This Day in 1988, Baba Amte won the U.N. Human Rights Award.He was an Indian social activist and lawyer, devoted his life to serving India's poorest, particularly those affected by leprosy.
Alongside he has also won International Awards like the 1990 Templeton Prize, and the 1999 Gandhi Peace Prize.
