On this day, on 21 November 1947, India issued its first stamp of #Independence to mark the significant movement in Indian history. This stamp symbolizes the beginning of a new era in Indian history. The Indian Postal Service continued to operate nationwide following India's independence and offers the Indian public a number of worthwhile, reasonably priced services.The three-and-a-half annas stamp features the Indian flag with the patriots' slogan, Jai Hind, on the top right-hand corner.
