Proclamation of Diocletian as Roman Emperor in 284 CE

Roman Emperor Diocletian sat on the throne after the death of Carinus at the Battle of the Margus in 284 CE and ruled it until 305 CE.After sitting on the throne of Roman Empire, he reorganized the administration and military machinary of the empire that led the foundation of Byzantine Empire.
Roman Emperor Diocletian issued this copper Follis, Aquileia mint, during his rule. The obverse features a bust of Diocletian facing right, and the reverse features Moneta standing facing left, holding scales and a cornucopia.
