The city of Kathiwar served as the headquarters of the Mirzas, who rebelled against Akbar and besieged the fort of Ahmedabad. In the second military campaign, Akbar was successful in suppressing the Mirzas and regaining control over the Subah of Gujarat.The silver rupee (11.52g) minted at Junagarh was issued by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. The obverse is inscribed as Shah Jahan Badshah Gazi in knotted square, King's title, and mint name in margin. The reverse is inscribed with Kalima in a knotted square, name of four caliphs around, Date.
